After a successful conference on Trans Health in November, we want to continue discussing some topics that were really appreciated by the community and invite you to also share your thoughts on the matter.

For this and in recognition of the Trans Day of Visibility, we invite you to come and explore some nuances, myths and sensitivities around the topic of retransition. In doing so, we will also question the concept of identity and its relation to binary thinking and delve into transitioning as a fluid, changing and continuous process.

20:30 – final mingling and goodbyes!

On this year’s Transgender Day of Visibility we are organising a protest in Stockholm. We want to be as visible and as loud as possible to make everyone understand that the Swedish healthcare system is failing us.

In a time where our identity is exploited by colonisers in the name of genocide, we also stand and protest for trans and queer Palestinians and the liberation of Palestine .
Bring your signs and let’s make our voices heard!

This is also a great opportunity to come meet us if you are curious about our organisation.
We will have a big yellow banner, cool folks and music playing.

SAQMI joins forces with Trans Hälsoplattformen to bring a very special, raw, and powerful art exhibition: “Our health – our lives!”

 In a world where self-identification is often questioned and challenged, where rights can hang in the balance, this exhibition becomes a sanctuary for authenticity and resilience. Here, you will witness the raw and unfiltered emotions of individuals who have faced the exhausting task of explaining their true selves to a world that sometimes struggles to understand.

 These personal testimonies provide a glimpse into the lives of those who have faced societal barriers, discrimination, and the relentless fight for their rights. As you navigate this immersive journey, we hope you’ll leave with a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by the trans and non-binary community, standing in solidarity with them and perhaps discovering common threads in our struggles. Let us learn, empathize, and celebrate together as we amplify the voices of those who have dared to be their authentic selves.

We will stand on a small lawn outside the main entrance to Socialstyrelsen.

It is an easily accessible place for both wheelchair and alternative transportation.

The presentation will most likely be held in English.

There will be space to retreat if you need to rest.

Accessibility:

The event is at ground level, but, there are some stairs and small doors. The smallest door is 77cm wide.

There is sound amplification but no hearing loop.

The presentation will be held in English but we can arrange for a video translation into Swedish if needed (tell us in advance!).

There are toilets and a separate room in case you need to take a break from all the people.

The site is accessible by wheelchair, both from Socialstyrelsen and from the metro if you just want to come for the picnic.

There are a few meters of cobblestones on the way to the amphitheater.

There will be some vegan fika on site but it is good if you bring your own to the picnic if you want to make sure to have some food.

The park is large and there will be plenty of places to retreat to if you need a break.
